OVERVIEW

The Product Quality Assurance Evaluator promotes customer satisfaction and loyalty by ensuring that products sold are safe, accurately described and in compliance with federal, state and industry regulations. Reviews supporting scientific technical studies and determines acceptable product claims. Remains current on issues and regulations specific to assigned categories. Builds cross functional working relationships and interacts with legal, merchants, vendors, and Quality Control.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Reviews performance testing and laboratory analysis, including claims substantiation, safety testing and regulatory compliance.
  • Liaise with internal Evine teams, vendors and outside agencies on technical matters to ensure that products and vendors conform with all applicable standards and regulations.
  • Conducts product evaluation, including compliance with all known federal, state and local requirements; labeling requirements, and Evine requirements for packaging, product information, etc.
  • Working knowledge, by assigned category of product design and development/manufacturing processes enough to assess products for predictable patterns of performance, critical features/operation and failures to identify defects based on overviews of products or product proposals for risk assessment and mitigation.
  • Evaluate samples to determine compliance with requirements. Capture evaluation results in system and communicate to affected parties.

  • Researches customer-reported adverse reactions or issues and presents findings to manager.
  • New vendor partner onboarding; assess areas of opportunity and develop a going forward strategy to educated and empower new vendor partners to meet Evine’s requirements.
  • Understands what products are considered hazardous materials, per UPS, USPS, US DOT, and IATA requirements. Updates systems accordingly.
  • Receive and review inspection reports. Provide shipping authorization.
  • Performs tests using available resources and/or consults manager when third-party testing may be needed to substantiate product claims.
  • Consults Manager to determine appropriate test methodologies to ensure products meet Evine quality standards for functionality, performance, durability, and safety.

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in related field.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to understand technical scientific studies and laboratory analyses.
  • Working knowledge of FTC and FDA laws and regulations as well as all known Federal, state and local regulations for assigned categories.
  • Ability to manage processes.
  • Self-motivated, timely, reliable, and responsive to time urgent matters.
  • Decision-making, organization, and planning skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Minimal travel may be required.
